HYDRAULICS hardest question Aviation Mechanics?

man2190 asked:

i need help with this project anyone i will award 100 points if answered correctly by posting multiple questions and choosing whoever gets the right answer.
i have a hydraulics test to make in which my teacher has asked this question several times but no one has ever passed it in the last five years the question is what would happen if u as an aircraft Mechanic make a repair on a tube line in an aircraft and suddenly the airplane happens to crash. The federal Aviation Administration A.k.a (FAA) has to blame on someone and they will come searching for u and You will have to explain to them with written paperwork that ur Repair was not the cause of the crash what will u writte down as an explanation?

This question is for anyone with aircraft knowledge however anyone that puts some kind of resource as a website will be awaded. THanks to anyone that tries tough this question has never been answered before on the last five years. this question happens to be the whole test.

unless their findings shows that your repair casued the crash. they cant and wont come after you. they may question you on what all you did or did you see anyhting out of the ordanary that at that time didnt seem out of the ordanary.

unlike the air force which I was in for 7 years as a B-52 crew chief. I had my bomber shell its number 4 engine which it took out number 3 and flamed out 1 and 2 engines. the bomber landed. before it landed I was wokened up in my dorm room and told to report to the commanding officers office. I was drilled ruthlessly as to what I did and didnt do to the aircaft.

even if you follow the tech data to the leter yo umight have missed something and as I was always told if you sign off on the job. that means you take full responsibility of the job you did. if it caused the crash you are liable for the crash.

plus the NTSB does their own investigation and tehy always find out mostly what caused the crash. now if they see that a hydro line that you replaced casued the plane to crash. then you will be infront of the board explaining what all you did.

so my answer is untill the NTSB concludes their investigation. I would tell the FAA to F off and tell then to wait till the NTSB gets their findings.

If I did the work as an A & P the IA (Inspection Authorization) would have all responsibility put on him or her, if this was a major repair. The other is what kind of repair? I am pretty certain you can’t repair hydraulic tube lines. Check the books, I think this may be a trick question. I need to know more info. Is this type of repair covered in the aircraft repair manual or covered in FAR 43.13-1B. I would then show the FAA the aircraft log book and the page that covered that repair, there they would find the referenced material.

show them the logbook, prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the repair you made was in accordiance with (IAW) current the aircraft repair manuals and Airworthiness Directives. that should be it.

I wouldn’t repair the line i would replace the line with a new approved line

i would write: prove that it WAS the reason of the crash. since there still is presumption of innocence…

if the system was checked alive and working, without leakage, if it was performed by a qualified personnel, folowing the technology schedule, no one can say its your fault. also proper tools, components, fluids are necesarry, and easy to prove.

No splices are permited any repair made must be a replacement of the entire section .
