Cessna Jobs in Kiwi Country?

ev1go asked:

Are there a lot of small aircraft repair jobs needed in New Zealand right now? Where can I find LMI - Labor Market Information on the topic? Does NZ need more Airplane Mechanics?

    STOP right now !

Aussie is hanging out for aircraft mechanics and Avionics etc…..

There are courses about to start, in fact my man is about to do one in avionics - guaranteed a job out of it.

Uncle Johnny (Howard) will even pay most of the $20,000 course. (for the apprenticeship side of it)

    go here for more info.

To be honest I don’t think there is much work over here for airplane mechanics. The main place of employment in the aviation industry here is at Air New Zealand, but they are always laying off staff. We have the Christchurch engine shop which does the engine rebuilds on the P&W jets fitted to 737, this would be a better company to work for as it is only half owned by Air New Zealand and P&W owns the rest. Your best bet would be to try aero clubs if you want light aircraft work but often these places have only a small team of mechanics. Due to the nature of air new zealand a lot of people move from them to small outfits when they talk about staff cuts.
